Eaton Fire Student Achievement Scholarships

In the wake of the Eaton Fire, many local students faced unexpected challenges that disrupted their daily lives, education, and future plans. The John Muir High School Class of 1985 Foundation is committed to helping these students continue pursuing their educational goals by providing scholarship opportunities that recognize academic achievement, resilience, leadership, and determination.

These scholarships are designed to honor students who have remained focused on excellence despite adversity, while encouraging them to take the next step toward college, vocational training, or other educational pathways. By investing in our youth today, we are helping build a stronger future for our community tomorrow.

Eaton Fire Student Achievement Scholarships

The John Muir High School Class of 1985 Foundation is proud to announce two scholarships dedicated to supporting outstanding students whose families were impacted by the Eaton Fire. These awards recognize academic excellence, perseverance, and commitment to educational success during one of the most challenging periods in our community's history.

Scholarship Program Purpose

The John Muir High School Class of 1985 Foundation created these scholarships to invest in students whose educational journeys were affected by the Eaton Fire while recognizing their commitment to academic excellence. Through these awards, the Foundation seeks to encourage higher education, celebrate perseverance, and support the next generation of leaders who will help strengthen and rebuild our communities.

Total Scholarship Fund: $5,000
Application Window: March 1st - May 15th of each year
Eligible Applicants: Graduating high school seniors impacted by the Eaton Fire
Use of Funds: Tuition, books, educational supplies, fees, or other educational expenses

Scholarship Amount: $500

The Eaton Fire Scholar Award recognizes a graduating senior who has maintained exceptional academic performance while navigating the personal and family challenges caused by the Eaton Fire. This scholarship honors students who demonstrate determination, focus, and a commitment to achieving their educational goals despite adversity.

Eligibility Requirements

High school graduating senior
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.75
Resident of an Eaton Fire impacted community
Accepted to a college, university, trade school, or vocational program
Submission of a short personal statement describing educational goals and lessons learned through overcoming challenges

Scholarship Amount: $500

The Resilience & Excellence Scholarship celebrates a student who has demonstrated remarkable strength, leadership, and academic success following the Eaton Fire. This award recognizes students who not only excel in the classroom but also serve as positive examples within their families, schools, and communities.

High school graduating senior
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50
Resident of an Eaton Fire impacted household
Enrollment in an accredited postsecondary educational program
One letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, coach, or community leader

Our programs focus on scholarships, mentorship, community engagement, and student success.

A California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit was created for the sole purpose of providing scholarship assistance to students that are victims of the Eaton Fire.
