Nina Jackson, Executive Director

Nina Jackson is a proud member of the John Muir High School Class of 1985 and a dedicated advocate for education, community engagement, and youth development. Throughout her life, Nina has remained committed to supporting initiatives that create opportunities for students and families while strengthening the Pasadena and Altadena communities.

As a founding supporter of the JMHS 85 Foundation, Nina is passionate about preserving the legacy of the Class of 1985 by investing in future generations through scholarships, mentorship, and community service. She believes that education is one of the most powerful tools for creating lasting change and works to ensure that deserving students have access to the resources and encouragement needed to achieve their goals.

Nina's commitment to service, leadership, and community empowerment reflects the values of excellence, resilience, and giving back that continue to define the spirit of the John Muir High School Class of 1985. 

Courtney Patton-Jackson,
Board Officer

Courtney Patton-Jackson is a respected community leader, advocate, and proud graduate of the John Muir High School Class of 1985. She has dedicated her time and talents to supporting educational initiatives, community development, and programs that uplift youth and families throughout the Pasadena and Altadena communities.

As an officer of the JMHS 85 Foundation, Courtney plays an important role in advancing the organization's mission to provide scholarships, recognize student achievement, and create opportunities for young people to succeed despite adversity. Her passion for helping others, combined with her commitment to service, has made her a trusted voice and valued leader within the foundation.

Courtney believes that investing in students today creates stronger communities tomorrow. Through her leadership and dedication, she continues to help build a lasting legacy that honors the achievements of the John Muir High School Class of 1985 while inspiring future generations to pursue excellence in education, leadership, and service. 

Kelvin "Kip" Dickson, Board Officer

Class of 1985 | John Muir High School | Pasadena, California

A proud Pasadena native and graduate of John Muir High School's Class of 1985, Kelvin "Kip" Dickson has maintained a lifelong connection to the Muir community. As lead sports journalist for The Blazer, he covered many of the school's athletic accomplishments while also enjoying an active role in student and social life on campus. His experiences at Muir helped shape a passion for storytelling, leadership, and community involvement that continues today.

Kip currently serves on the John Muir High School Foundation Board and is committed to honoring the school's rich legacy while helping create opportunities for future Mustangs. Professionally, he has built a successful career spanning event management, marketing, business development, and community partnerships, working with major national brands and organizations throughout the country.

Brian Baccus, Compliance Officer
 
Class of 1985 | John Muir High School | Pasadena, California

Brian Baccus is a longtime Altadena resident, entrepreneur, and nonprofit leader dedicated to community development, youth empowerment, and organizational compliance. For more than six years, he operated his businesses from his Altadena home, which also served as a creative and technology hub.

Brian has played a leadership role in several nonprofit organizations, including the Praxtice Foundation, which provides scholarships and resources for student athletes; Casa San Jose Sober Living, supporting Spanish language recovery services; the Evolution of Fatherhood Foundation; and the Citizen Father Foundation, where he assists with governance, compliance, and fundraising efforts. Through Brian Baccus Brands, he also helps individuals and organizations navigate the process of starting and operating nonprofit organizations in California.

The John Muir High School Class of 1985 Foundation was established to unite alumni in support of educational opportunities for current and future students while preserving the proud legacy of John Muir High School.

Our programs focus on scholarships, mentorship, community engagement, and student success.

A California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit was created for the sole purpose of providing scholarship assistance to students that are victims of the Eaton Fire.
